As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, our chief concern remains the health and safety of all whom we serve. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 757-683-6890 or email email@example.com. Please see below additional updates on CIVIC’s COVID-19 response.
COVID-19 Update – Spring 2021
CIVIC will continue to hold events virtually through May 2021 and move into hybrid program sessions starting in June. Alumni, please stay tuned for opportunities to join us for programming. Check out our Alumni Events page for more information. At this point in time, we anticipate that events in the fall, including the CIVIC Class of 2022 programming, will be in a hybrid or fully in-person format.
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult but prudent decision that CIVIC will not host the Founders’ Luncheon that is typically scheduled in May. Our top priority is to keep our guests safe. We are closely monitoring the CDC and the State of Virginia for guidelines on when it might be possible to hold in-person events. Please save the date on your calendar for next year’s Founders’ Luncheon – Thursday, May 12th, 2022.
COVID-19 Update – Fall 2020
CIVIC Leadership Institute is continuing to closely monitor the regulations set for from the office of the Governor of Virginia. We will be holding all events virtually during the fall of 2020. The CIVIC Executive Program and CIVIC Scholars program will continue as scheduled in the virtual format, and alumni will have the opportunity to join special program sessions throughout the year. Check out our Alumni Events page for more information about upcoming events.
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult but prudent decision that CIVIC will not host the Darden Awards for Regional Leadership that is typically scheduled in November. Our top priority is to keep our guests safe. We are closely monitoring the CDC and the State of Virginia for guidelines on when it might be possible to hold in-person events. Please save the date on your calendar for next year’s Darden Awards on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021.

COVID-19 UPDATE – Virtual Events: Tuesday, April 14, 2020
We hope that each of you and your families continue to feel well and safe. Thank you to all of our community leaders, first responders and essential service providers for your bravery and for making a difference. The demonstration of such compassion and kindness from all corners of the world are truly inspiring. As are the stories of true leaders stepping up and making a difference. So many of those leaders here in Hampton Roads that are making an impact are CIVIC alumni and we are grateful to them for guiding the region through this pandemic.
Executive level leadership is so critically important, especially as we turn towards the pathway to recovery. This will not be an easy task, but with the connections within CIVIC I am confident our region will come out of this even stronger.

My sincere thanks to all our alumni who are working every day to keep our region safe during this crisis. Please reach out if there’s anything I can do to help.
