CIVIC Leadership Institute is postponing its annual Darden Awards for Regional Leadership until next year because of pandemic concerns.
The organization chose not to name honorees this year, but submitted nominations will automatically be considered for the 2021 Darden Awards, which is scheduled for Nov. 17 next year, according to a news release. Typically, CIVIC honors an individual for significant contributions and service to Hampton Roads along with an organization that receives the corporate award for regional leadership every year.ADVERTISING
CIVIC is continuing with its executive leadership program for the Class of 2021, which launched with 39 senior-level leaders during a virtual Sept. 24 ceremony, according to a news release.
The program introduces leaders to various sectors and timely issues in the region. Participants typically also collaborate on community projects.
The incoming class, along with more than 900 alumni, is expected to address issues of resiliency, recovery, inclusivity and regional collaboration, according to the institute.
